Privacy Policy

Kintide is a read-only calendar companion that gives you a simple daily heads-up about your family’s schedule. This policy explains what information Kintide collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. We have tried to write it in plain language.

The short version

  • Kintide reads your Google Calendar events (titles and times only) to build your daily brief. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything on your calendar.
  • Kintide does not store your calendar events. They are read live from Google each time and never saved to our database.
  • Kintide stores only what it needs to work: your account email, a secure key that lets it read your calendar, your calendar labels, and your preferred notification times.
  • Kintide does not sell your data, does not use advertising, and does not send your information to any AI provider or analytics service.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use Kintide, we collect and store the following:

  • Account information. Your email address and a user ID, provided when you sign in with Google.
  • Google access token. A secure “refresh token” that allows Kintide to read your Google Calendar on your behalf. This is stored so you don’t have to reconnect every time.
  • Calendar labels and colors. The names and colors you assign to your calendars within Kintide, so your brief can show whose event is whose.
  • Notification preferences. The times of day you want to receive your morning and evening briefs.

Information we read but do not store

To build your daily brief, Kintide reads the following directly from Google Calendar each time, in memory only, and never saves it:

  • Event titles and start/end times.

Kintide does not request or read event descriptions, locations, attendee lists, or guest email addresses. Once your brief is generated and shown to you, the event data is discarded. There is no stored copy of your calendar events anywhere in Kintide.

How your daily brief is generated

Your brief is generated inside Kintide’s own systems using a fixed template that summarizes how many events you have and when. Your calendar information is not sent to any artificial intelligence provider or any outside company to generate your brief.

Google API disclosure

Kintide’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Kintide requests the following Google permission:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly — read-only access to view your calendars and events. Kintide cannot make any changes to your Google Calendar.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers required to operate Kintide:

  • Google — to sign you in and to read your calendar events.
  • Supabase — our database provider, which securely stores your account information, access token, calendar labels, and notification settings.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider, which runs the Kintide application.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or AI providers.

How your information is protected

Your data is stored with access controls that restrict each user’s records to that user only. Your Google access token is stored securely and used solely to read your calendar to generate your briefs.

Your choices and rights

  • Disconnect your calendar. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time, which stops Kintide from reading your events.
  • Delete your account. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below. When your account is deleted, your stored information (account, access token, labels, and settings) is removed.
  • Revoke access through Google. You can also revoke Kintide’s access directly from your Google Account permissions page.

Children’s privacy

Kintide is intended for use by adults managing a household. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Kintide evolves. If the way we handle your data changes in a meaningful way — for example, if briefs begin to be generated using an AI provider — we will update this policy before that change takes effect.
